Dr. JT Roberts, O.D.

Dr. J.T. Roberts founded Kilgore-Gilmer Eye Care Center, where he now practices therapeutic optometry and provides full scope primary eye care. He is licensed as a therapeutic optometrist by the Texas Optometry Board and the National Association of Boards of Examiners in Optometry.

Dr. Roberts graduated with honors from Henderson High School in 1968. He then went on to earn his Associate of Science degree in 1970 from Kilgore College and his Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Dr. Roberts completed his schooling in 1976 when he graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry with a Doctor of Optometry degree.

Outside of work, Dr. Roberts is actively involved in the Kilgore community and service organizations.

Dr. Jadie Roberts, O.D.

Dr. Jadie Roberts is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. He provides full scope primary eye care, treatment for eye disease, and contact lens fittings.

Dr. Roberts graduated from Kilgore High School in 1999. In 2003, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Movement Science from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX. Dr. Roberts graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah, OK in 2007. While a student at NSUOCO, Dr. Roberts served as third and fourth year Class President.

Dr. Roberts is a repeated winner of Best Optometrist in Kilgore, most recently in 2022. When he’s not at work, Dr. Roberts enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Shiloh Roberts, and their two sons, Bolton and Joah. He also enjoys snowboarding, golfing, and traveling.

Dr. Shiloh Roberts, O.D.

Dr. Shiloh Roberts is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. She provides full scope primary eye care, treatment for eye disease, and contact lens fittings.

Dr. Roberts graduated from Lone Grove High School in 1999. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. Dr. Roberts graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2007.

While a student at NSUOCO, Dr. Roberts was the recipient of the NSUOCO Clinical Excellence Award, the Pheiffer Award for Practice Management Research, the Women in Optometry Scholarship, 2006 TRIAD Third Year Pathology Award, the 2005 Optometric Student Association Outstanding Member Award, a member of Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, NSU Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa, Women in Optometry, and graduated Summa cum laude.

When she’s not at the office, Dr. Shiloh Roberts enjoys reading, traveling, golfing and spending time with her family.

Dr. Shawn K. Johnston, O.D.

Dr. Johnston is a therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist. He provides full scope primary eye care, treatment of eye disease and contact lens fitting.

Dr. Johnston was raised in Gilmer, Texas. He graduated with honors as a Buckeye in 2002. In 2008 he earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Within that same time span, Dr. Johnston spent two years living in Denmark and learning about their culture. In 2016 he graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree from U.I.W. Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio, Texas. While a student at UIWRSO, Dr. Johnston was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award, completed research on color contrast sensitivity for military admissions, a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, a clinical preceptor for underclassmen, worked at facilities seeing patients who were active duty military and their families, and also patients with the Veterans Affairs system, and graduated Magna cum laude.

Dr. Johnston is grateful to be back serving in his hometown of Gilmer. He loves spending time with his wife Seraph and four children Parker, Zoey, Avery, and Lucy. He enjoys all things athletic, outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family.
