We are a fully-equipped optometric practice, offering a complete range of eye and vision care services for our patients.

 Comprehensive Eye Exams

An annual eye exam is the best way to protect your vision and maintain good eye care. With a combined 100 years of working eye care experience, our expert optometrists are experienced in diagnosing and treating an array of vision disorders such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, cataracts, glaucoma, and more. At Kilgore-Gilmer Eye Care Centers, our team will work to get you seen promptly and thoroughly.

Contact Lens Exams

If you are considering contact lenses, our optometrists will complete a thorough contact lens exam to ensure we select the lenses that are a perfect “fit” for you!  Your lenses should not only be healthy, but also comfortable and convenient.

When choosing contact lenses, considerations may include whether you would prefer daily disposables, 2-week disposables or monthly disposable lenses, as well as soft versus rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses. Depending on any existing eye conditions, we may have specific recommendations regarding lens type or brand.

Pediatric Eye Care

Early detection and treatment of any eye disorders is critical to your child’s long-term eye health. Our Optometrists will work with you and your child to ensure their eyes are healthy and that they can see clearly.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) recommends eye exams for children at:
● Six months to one year of age
● At least every one year following

Think your child may be experiencing vision problems? Watch for the following signs:
● Rubbing the eyes
● Excessive blinking
● Frequent squinting
● Regular headaches
● Shutting one eye to focus

Blue Light Protection

Blue light, especially that emitted by the screens of computers, tablets, smartphones and other digital devices, can cause damage to your vision over time.

Unlike other forms of light, virtually all visible blue light passes through the cornea and lens and reaches the retina, putting light-sensitive cells at risk for damage.

If you are regularly exposed to the effects of blue light, consider protecting your eyes with blue light filtering glasses or lenses to help block harmful blue light.
